April and Scott’s Wedding Day at the Harry Cooler Conference Center

A Wedding Day Built on Love & Relaxed Beauty

On September 6, 2025, April and Scott said “I do” surrounded by about seventy of their closest family and friends. Their wedding was simple, laid back, and exactly what they wanted. Everything about the day showed who they are as a couple.

Relaxed, Real, and COMPLETELY in Love.

As both their coordinator and officiant, I got to walk through this whole process with them. From planning out the details to standing with them at the altar, my role was making sure the day flowed smoothly so they could just focus on each other. From the time they arrived at the venue until the very last dance, it was filled with laughter, personal touches, and the calm kind of happiness every couple hopes for.

The Venue

The Harry Cooler Conference Center in Greenwood, Indiana is not your typical wedding spot. It’s tucked away but full of charm, designed with inspiration from Frank Lloyd Wright. The building has that mid-century modern style with lots of clean lines and open space, but the real beauty is how it connects with the outdoors.

For April and Scott, it fit perfectly. They wanted something unique and full of character, and this venue gave them exactly that. Guests got to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, and the open space that made everything feel relaxed and inviting.

Their Vision

April and Scott had one goal for their wedding: keep it real. They were not worried about what was “supposed” to be done or following trends. They wanted their day to be fun, comfortable, and focused on the people and the moments that truly mattered.

They invited seventy guests, which gave it that close-knit feel. It wasn’t about impressing anyone; it was about celebrating with the people they love most. And because of that, it felt warm, genuine, and perfectly them.

The Ceremony

Their ceremony was personal from start to finish. I built a custom script for them that was full of their story, their personalities, and their values. We mixed in some humor, some sweet moments, and some promises that felt completely their own.

One of the highlights of the day came before the ceremony even started: Scott shared a dance with his mom. It wasn’t planned, it just happened, and it was so special. Those are the kinds of moments that end up sticking with you forever.

Their vows were written with intention, promising to stand by each other in everyday life, through challenges, and in every little victory. Their ring exchange was simple and heartfelt, sealing those promises in front of their family and friends.

The Details

This wedding was full of unique touches. Instead of flowers for centerpieces, they had cupcake bouquets made by Molly’s Sociable Sweets. Not only did they look beautiful, but guests were thrilled to find out they could eat them too. It was creative, fun, and such a perfect reflection of April and Scott’s personalities.

Food came from Dashboard Food Truck, and let me tell you, it was a hit. Nachos, chicken, beef, and all that gooey cheese that makes everyone happy. Vanessa and her team crushed it, and guests were raving about the food all night.

The music was handled by Complete Weddings and Events Indy. From the ceremony to the last dance, the music was spot on. The DJ kept the energy high and the dance floor full, which is always the sign of a great night.

Wedding Officiant & Coordinator

My Role

This wedding was unique for me because I was both their coordinator and their officiant. That meant I was handling vendor arrivals, keeping the timeline on track, helping the bridal party stay on schedule, welcoming guests, and then switching gears to lead the ceremony. But I never do it alone and that’s our team is SO amazing! Having someone there to assist and control all of these aspects is crucial.

Balancing both roles can be a challenge, but it also allows me to make sure the couple is completely supported from start to finish. April and Scott were able to relax, knowing that everything was taken care of, and just focus on enjoying the moment.

Why a Coordinator Matters

April and Scott’s day showed why having a coordinator is so important, even for smaller weddings. There are so many moving parts that need to come together. Having someone in charge of the timeline, managing vendors, and troubleshooting behind the scenes means the couple does not have to worry about a thing.

For April and Scott, that meant they could soak in their ceremony, enjoy their food, laugh with their guests, and just be present in the day without stress.

Wrapping It Up

April and Scott’s wedding at the Harry Cooler Conference Center was not about perfection. It was about being present. It was about showing up fully, loving deeply, and celebrating openly.

From the unique mid-century modern venue to the sweet cupcake bouquets, from the laid-back food truck dinner to their personalized ceremony, every part of the day reflected who they are as a couple.

For other couples planning their wedding, April and Scott are proof that the most important thing is to stay true to yourselves. Choose details that bring you joy. Work with vendors who understand your vision. And most of all, focus on the love that brought you to this moment.

Congratulations again to April and Scott. I could not be happier for them, and I know their life together will be filled with the same love and laughter that made their wedding day so special.
