2023 Wedding Planning
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU’RE ENGAGED!
First of all, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! I know it can be stressful with so many holidays upon us all at once. Halloween instantly rolls into Thanksgiving and it’s usually Christmas BEFORE the Turkey even hits the oven. But, for those of us in the wedding industry, we know it as: ENGAGEMENT SEASON!
Yes, the holidays are Peak ENGAGEMENT Season for couples all across the world!
The holidays are magical, bright, fun, and full of family and friend get-togethers. It’s the PERFECT Time to propose to your significant other. The lights, the joy, having all of your family and friends gathered around as you get down on one knee and ask that monumental question: WILL YOU MARRY ME?
It’s the happiest time of the year for newly engaged couples and we would love to be a part of your wedding planning process.
Pick a Date
Many couples will dive right in and start planning. The first step is always PICKING A DATE. Or at least having a few dates to pick from in case Venues are already booked.
Determine Wedding Type
Wwhat type of wedding do you want? Large with everyone you know? Or smaller and more intimate? Or something right in between?
Establish a Budget
Budget. Budget. Budget. This is very important and needs to be talked about. Having a budget in place for every last detail will help you determine what setting/venue you will want to look at. So have that discussion in depth. And at Length! If your parents are helping to pay for the wedding you definitely need to have them involved in this discussion.
Find a Venue
Start looking at Venues. Figure out your style! Are you into the Barn, Rustic vibe? Or something outdoors surrounded by beautiful tall trees and fall colors? Maybe you like a more elegant feel and want chandeliers and lots of light with floor-to-ceiling windows. There are so many beautiful options in Indiana to choose from so take a little time and first decide what your style is and then let the hunt begin.
Keep in Mind
A VERY important piece to this planning puzzle is going to be your Budget. I cannot stress that enough! You need to be on the same page as far as how much you want to spend on your day. Going into debt for one day doesn’t need to happen. It’s important to agree upon a budget and also know what Vendors are most important to you.
Do you want a Videographer? Or would you rather put that extra expense into upgrading photography? Catering? Will you want a Cash bar or open bar? Do you want a venue that provides FULL service and does your décor for you? Or are you a minimalist? Less is more kind of couple?
Benefits of Hiring a Wedding Planner
Having a Wedding Planner or at the very least a Wedding Coordinator who knows the industry and what price points are and knows the GREAT Vendors from the bad is truly one of the best investments you can make in your wedding planning process.
An Experienced Planner and Wedding Coordinator knows the industry and can help to save you thousands and really help you get more bang for your buck.
One of the BIGGEST compliments I get from Brides and their Moms is that hiring me as their Planner/Coordinator allowed them to ENJOY THE DAY! They didn’t have to worry about set up, greeting vendors, timing arrivals, dealing with setting up of décor, creating a timeline that everyone involved receives, coordinating the rehearsal, etc etc etc etc…..…..they were able to truly remember the amazing beauty of the entire day without a stressing or worrying.
And to them? That was the best money they spent. I have personally witnessed so many weddings with NO one to control the flow of the day and the bride and her family were nothing BUT STRESSED. They couldn’t enjoy those moments and it was chaotic and nothing was running smoothly. So definitely consider hiring a Coordinator at the very least! You are spending a lot of money on your wedding day and you deserve to ENJOY EVERY SECOND!
We can attend venue tours, review contracts, and ask those important questions that you may not know to ask. We can help to build your timeline from start to finish. Coordinate transportation services and hotel blocks. Tastings at Caterers and Wedding Cake vendors. We can help you secure the best vendors to suit your needs and budget.
We have services to meet almost any budget and can work with couples to create a plan just for them.
And it’s never too early to start meeting with vendors and interviewing them. YES, interview EVERY vendor. You should meet with a minimum of 3 of each one and ask those questions. Have a list prepared before your meeting.
Are they insured? What backup plans do they have in case they get sick or an emergency happens? Look at their website, reviews, how long have they been in business, and what is their experience. What can they offer you and what sets them apart from their peers? Do they have strong contracts set in place to protect your Investment? Your day is absolutely an Investment so protect it.
An experienced Wedding Planner or Wedding Coordinator or Officiant is such an asset to planning your wedding day. Don’t be afraid to ask for help and guidance.
Hiring a Professional Officiant truly DOES make a difference. We can run your rehearsal, and the time your wedding party, we know those key, important aspects to incorporate and we help you create the PERFECT, CUSTOM Wedding Script. One that reflects you and your style and beliefs and sets a tone.
